Things to Consider
Like all natural flowing rivers, this river flows in ONE direction NOT in a circle. We require rain to fill up and make the float more enjoyable. However, if you know the Frio we have been known to have some slow floating summers, but hey… beats the heck outta the city! Below we have our precipitation chart for this area if you would like to see how the river is currently flowing.

The banks of the Frio are private property. The river is available for everyone to swim/float up and down as far as you like. The only public entrances or exits are the public road crossings. Never get out on the banks of the Frio except in cases of emergency.

Here are a few things you may consider while floating the Frio:
o   Be sure to wear good water shoes that will not fall off. The Frio River has a rock bottom and you may need to stand up along your float.
We carry water shoes at our store.
o   Sunscreen, you will need to reapply throughout your tubing trip. Getting sunburned is no fun.
o   Sunglasses and Headwear. Be sure they are attached to something so they do not sink to the bottom.
o   Water. Even though beer taste so much better you will need it to keep hydrated.
o   Electronic devices such as cell phones and Digital Cameras are NOT ADVISED.
Waterproof cameras are perfect, just make sure you attach them to something.
o   Do NOT take your car keys or room keys on the river. If you use our shuttle service you may leave your keys with us in the store.
o   Trash bags. We provide yellow mesh bags at the store to dispose of your trash while floating. We love clean rivers!!
o   No Glass or Styrofoam on the Frio River.
o   No jewelry or valuables. Men… this means you too!
o   The Frio River is a family river. Please respect your fellow tubers and be kind.
